Does Size Matter? …
Do the best things in life come in small packages? Or maybe the bigger the better?
Is it always the small pieces that make the big pictures? Or are bigger bags a statement on their own?
In the bag world (and in general), the bigger the better has always been my philosophy. Trendy or not I always believed the teeny, tiny bags were unpractical – throw the whole functionality aspect out of the window – and mostly a waste of my hard-earned money!
In this world driven by fashion trends, media, and influencers, you must make sure your personality is your strongest ally. It will dictate your personal taste. For me, undeniably, bigger has always been better. Being able to be in fashion and be practical at the same time has always been a no brainer. I can’t stand feeling like I must compromise on the things I want to have access to because of the size of my bag. Furthermore, why carry a small/micro bag and have to add a tote for all your must haves that couldn’t fit your purse?
But how long was I going to fight the trends though? Not to say I don’t stand for anything but there are some battles that I’ve come to learn compromising on would not hurt me… I had to come to terms with not judge how one spends their money and that while size matters, it is not the end all be all…

With that said, I still have a strong incline toward the larger-than-life/jumbo bags but have worked on building a small collection of crossbody, small bags which I am very proud of. I must admit that some days there’s something so freeing about not having to lug an extra limb around!!! And, let’s add, I like to not always be the one people will turn to and ask“Do you have any tissues? Do you have lotion?”just because I carry a whole house around my neck!
Micro bags are the hottest style trend of the moment, and we know functionality doesn’t matter when it comes to trends. However, we can’t forget the fact that some of these mini bags don’t actually fit anything, you have to be ruthless to fit even a credit card and lipstick (forget about squeezing an iPhone in there).
In conclusion, YES size matters just as long you stay true to your personal taste! I have wised up! LOL yes that’s what I will describe my slight change of mind and I will now reference myself has Goldilocks of bag! No matter what size I choose, I make sure it represents my style, my personality before trend.
